Majlis Akad Nikah - 9.30 am onwards - Bride's Home @ Tutong.

Akad Nikah or The Solemnisation is the main highlight in a Muslim Wedding ceremony where by the couple will be giving their "oath of marriage". A Wali - legally the bride's father, however in common cases, a religious official after consent from the Wali, will preside over the solemnisation. Here, under the grace of Allah, the groom vows to accept the bride's hand in front of witnesses.


Alhamdulillah, sekali lafaz saja sempurna Akad Nikah antara DetZ & Ijam. Laju eh cJam atu menjawap, pakai koma saja imam, nada fullstop tarus d sambung nya hahaha..

Majlis Berdikir & Berbedak commenced at about 8 pm, a bit late than scheduled.

The Malam Berbedak or Night of Powdering is a ceremonial event where family members and friends/family are invited to 'bless' the Bride/Groom by anointing the Bride/Groom with an ointment made from colored rice flour and scented oils. The Bride and Groom are dressed up in traditional Berbedak attire which is different for each one. The Bride has on a heavy brass (sometimes gold plated) headgear that has either a symbol/statuette of a chicken (called Ayam-ayam) or dragon (Naga) and is surrounded (wrapped) round with scented flowers. The groom has on a songkok (Muslim hat) or Dastar (crown made from songket cloth). Both are adorn with brass/gold plated arm bands, wrist bands, ankle bands and necklace. The Bride is also wrapped around her waist with a kain songket (usually red) that was given by the groom as part of her dowry (hantaran).

Not being an "orang brunei banar" (as we're orginating from tutong on both parents' side, DetZ are not expected to wear the traditional attire, so she didnt). Nevertheless, she looks stunning in her golden attire.

Majlis Pernikahan

Alhamdulillah, everything went well this morning. The makeup artist started 'making up' my face around 7.45am. Went to sleep at 2+am last night n Mami Alai thought I couldn't sleep pasal nervous. hahahaha NOT!!!!

Anyway, the groom arrived with the family earlier than scheduled. Patut nya around 10.30, but then they came b4 10, which was good coz awal smpai awal start majlis n awal abis, as sum were gagas for the sembahyang Jumaat.

N the groom did well msa bca akad nikah hehehe... Lancar yoooo. Tp mcm gagas jua bunyinya td hehe. Thanx to everyone yg dtg td pagi. And Alhamdulillah, the food was also enough for everyone, and they complimented the daging rendang. The caterer was Marsha Restaurant, owned by a colleague's mum.

Thanx to everyone yg datang, relatives especially my beloved cousins... Tonight will be berbedak n berdikir, expecting some friends to come over. Yay!!! Hmmmm... Jadi bini urang udah mcm nda pcaya lah rasanya. N not forgetting to Mami Alai, Bayai a.k.a Eira (Make-up artist) and RJ63 (official photographer), HUGE THANX guys... To Sharol n wife Hjh Aziha, thanx for the gubahan. To Nanang n Ejah... Hehehehehehehe

**Just now I received a call from my adik angkat Izi from KL. We were expecting her tonight and boboy n Ninak already left for Miri kn aga ia. Skali nya she MISSED her flight, and she was crying on the fon. Kesian bunyi nya. Kemarin nda ampit tiket direct to BWN. To Sis Izi n Ida, its ok, InsyaALLAH Im going to KL in Dec will meet u guys yea. Izi, stop crying ya dear. Take care.

Thusday, 31st July 2008.
Ceremony starts at about 8pm with the attendance of the families. DeTZ getting made up done about 8.45pm.
Babah got the honor being first to 'menculiki', followed by Nini Girl, n then Mama. The uncles and aunts of both sides followed next.
Menculiki session ends about 30mins later, after which dinner is served.
The ceremony last night marks the start off of the wedding celebration between Alizam & Akmarini, with the highlight being Majlis Akad Nikah, to be held next Friday morning, 08.08.08. Following which, Majlis Berdikir & Berbedak to be held later in the evening. Majlis Bersanding will takes place on 10.08.08.

Stress?? Nah!!!!!!!

Wow... Finally I got the time to update my own blog, n thanx to Mami Alai for your recent contributions hehehehe. Anyway, 1 more week to go, and lately Ive been asked this one particular question. "Stress ko?" and frankly speaking, NO! I think it's due to the fact that the hantaran sudah lapas and nda payah lgi ingau2 kan mengusai. I noe Ezah is so stressed tym ani mikirkan her wedding in November, so to u darling Ezah, bawa chill hehehe.

Ive confirmed my bookings with the karaoke man and the gulintangan group. As for pictures, I have cancelled the pre-wedding n instead buat post-wed saja coz we cant find the time to do the pre-wed. Any suggestion for the venue? Thought of doing it arah Empire Hotel tp i think masani ramai dah urg go there for their pre-wed. Want a place yg kurang expose, which reminds me of Nani's pre-wed, gmbr durang di sawah padi, which was soooooooooooooooo unique. Cool eh hehehe. We plan to begambar in our sports attire, kira doing morning workout, tapi ntah lah ah hehehehe sampai nda jua hajat tu.

As for invitation cards, alum semua abis bebagi, tp malar dah reprint nya. N semua benama udah. My dearest friends, will try to send them out by this week, tapi incase nda sampat, dtg saja.

Last Sunday, went to Abacus Travel fair with him. Kononnya kan book tarus ticket utk honeymoon. Skalinya dtg sana, ntah ah, the place was too crowded and too noisy, nda syok kan betanya2. And the RBA person suruh kami ke RBA Plaza sja tarus since we're going to use the holiday package we won masa last year's walkahunt. It is for 3days and 2nights to KL, n we plan to extend maybe 5days, tarus ke Langkawi InsyaAllah. Cuti pun alum apply hahahaha. nasib baik jua lah, pasal the plan asalnya kan jln after Ezah's wedding (30th Nov). Skalinya tadi Ebih texted me reminding me yg her nikah on the 5th Dec, so we have decided to apply cuti from 6th-13th. Need to get back here before Pinah's wedding (14th Dec)--confirm kan pin?--- and lapas atu bejurut urg kawin, coz Ebih's will be on the 21st and my cuz sbarang rumah 28th if nda silap. Meriah meriah meriah december ku hehehe.. Ow yeah. Drg adeey celebrate New year d KL. Wanted to join them tp nda tia dpt apply cuti lagi, boring!!!

Ezah pun kambang jua kan minta book awal2.. i told her jangan dulu, biar tah ko liat DeTz punya trial nanti, if u like it then confirm kan tah slajur.

The gifts fr bebadak, utk lelaki abis udah bebungkus semua & also for org bedikir.. tinggal utk perempuan lagi.. syukur, ada yg menaja.. thanks Ngah Din & Wifey.. :)
The souvenirs for ladies on the day of sanding will arrive soon..
& we just started on the jemputan, target deadline to send it out will be latest 2nd or 3rd week of July, insyaAllah..
need to type lagi the guests list.. Sori deT, ka sibuuukk punnn.. dtg rumah tu ngaleh udah rasanya kan buat apa2 lagi..
DeT alum decide lagi souvenirs fr Men on the sanding day.. Kids maybe will stick with cupcakes or donuts.. its almost SIX weeks away saja lagi..

Dets keep nagging and nagging me to follow up lagi with the printers..yea like im doing nothing, huh!.. skalinya, yesterday i followed up with phone calls & emails.. buleh c **d* tu cakap she didnt rcvd my email, and the number i've given them mesti salah pasal ia cannot get thru.. kamu tau pasal apa ia nda dpt get thru? kamu tau no. mobile kitani begins wih +6738xxxxxx kan?? ia call direct pakai 6738xxxx selajur, ada kehhhh..... ***a=Lor hahahaha..

nda siuk tu eh.. cua tah buat like - how u two first met..sapa yg *tuuuT** dulu kambang2.. when kamu decide kamu right for each other... u noe~ thos yucky sweet things like that hahahahahah..

neways - back from KL bebeh!!.. checklist - got the bunga tal000.. i went for cocoa as the blue we wanted is not available!! sky blue banyak - tapi adikku anie fussy mau regal blue.. so since cocoa is brown shade..can go wif the theme colour for the bebadak jua lerrr..

got the kain for wedding baju- kaler yang lawa-lawa sekali- as she said she trust my choice - she cant say much anymore.. tapi seriously, i heart that color, esp the songket.. the thing is, the boutique get to keep it.. no pics okay - expose tia karang hahahaha..

kad jemputan pun biasalah- pilihan aku mesti lawa punya.. tuuuunnnggguuuuu.....

apa lagi ah... owh! still havent decided on souvenirs for kids, got the boxes dah.. we're thinking of putting in muffins, or small cakes but the parental unit is having doubt about that..so maybe we'll stick with candies..yummy yummy candies..

Akhirnya... dapat jua ku meliat all the pics from Isy. He gave me the CD 3 days ago skali nya baru ani tah ada masa ku meng upload. banyaaaak gmbr nya hehehe so to cousins ku yg rasa2 nya byk muka kamu begambar ariatu, get a copy of the CD from me. Gtau awal2 lh ah.

So Far...

Sanak ku! havent got any latest pics utk di update, the one from Isy alum ready coz he is busy with the inforama thing, n I understand that. Stories??? Well, I've promised him not to masukkan any personal stories other than our wedding preparation stuffs in this blog. So far... mami Alai has helped me to confirmkan the caterer for the wedding, Haji Zainal catering. Both sides got the same caterer but I dont tink she has decided on the menu. Photographer, Im going to hire my dear fren rj63 who at first refused hahahaha but I managed to pajal ia. He's good!! Baju pengantin, sewa di M.R.S.A Bridal Gallery (3rd Floor, The Mall). The owner is Mami Alai's mum-in-law, who was so generous dat last tym she gave discounts for the gangsa-gangsa for my hantaran. Pelaminan, Im going to sewa from Aunt Hjh Zaleha. I forgot nama kadai nya but it's sumwer in Sengkurong. Why her? Coz most of my cousins pun nyewa d sana hehehe can't tink of yg lain lagi.

Then... kad jemputan. Well, frankly speaking guys, my wedding is kind of a low-budget one (seriously). We try to minimize the spending as much as possible, asalkan nda semberana, rite? So have been looking around for simple cards tp nice. Skali nya, luckily, Mami Alai is going to KL with the mum-in-law, who wants to cari stuff for her boutique. So, sekaligus lah buat my kad jemputan d KL, n i tink its cheaper over there n yet lawa.

Happy 7th Anniversary

27th February 2008, our 7th anniversary hehehehe... kalau dulu masa baru2 kawan kira brapa bulan, now brapa years... anyway... a funny story bout our anniversary last year, buleh kah tu... we both forgot!!! and gez wat, aku baru igt about it after Emi Star text aku wishing happy anniversary, and I was like..... *%&$!!! lupa bnr2 ani bah hehehehehe... Frankly speaking, we dont care much plg.... we dont really celebrate it bsr2an... abis2 pun just eat out... hehehehe bunga? coklat? nada la... we normally bagi hadiah tym birthdays.... somehow, we are not romantic kind of couple... Tak kisah pun... even today we havent actually decided kan ke mana to celebrate... somehow we are too busy to think about it... And... talking bout kesibukan ani, Nani yesterday text me arah msn asking bout the wedding preparation... Hahahahaha u were soooo damn right girl!!! malas bh rasanya kn ngurus kan hal-hal kawin ani, ngaliiih rasanya, luckily aku ada kakak yg sgt bertanggungjawab heeheheheh ia tah tmpt ku dump all the responsibilities... phew... lega...

The Wedding Planner's Ramblings

yea yea.. im d wedding planner, NOT the blog planner.. apa lerrrrr..
so far i have made plans on leessee.. urrmm almost nothing kali.. cos SHE PLANNED EVERYTHING DAH, downright to planning to get married (eh?)!! im just the co-ordinator.. the wedding co-ordinator.

the theme color will be silver/purple(mcm masa bertunang hariatu), so family.. get ur gears ready.. jantah kain sekayu yg bunga-bunga ah, nada lawa tu..(kata Det stail lama) kitani pakai kaler yg seakan-akan sama saja.. k2?? nada sponsor kali, unless sapa yg pandai "suck up" atu..cuba2 tah hahahaha.. kain d 1st metro lawa2.. we can go pakai yg plain chiffon tu.. $6.40 semeter.. kalau bali banyak2 kali ia bagi murah lagi..

bah ppl!, Get ur calendar ready and mark the followings:

1. Majlis Akad Nikah: Friday 8th Aug 2008 (Tent. 2.30pm 9.00am)

Havent got anything planned out for the malam minggu, 9th. Gambus sounds like a good idea, myb we shd vote?? karaoke, band, gambus or as u ppl gila2 kan masa anie Card Games!! so cast ur vote dearest..
DET, since ko will not be available for any of those (u noe wif all the bepacar n belulut thing ur going to do that nite) u r exempted from voting.

To do List:

• get guests list from both family sides
• menu options
• dress design for the bridemaids (hrrrmm...)
• other zillions stuff

Oooopss.. Baru 2nd post ni hehehe... been bz lately, I asked my wedding planner to update the blog tp nda bleh di harap ia atu... Anyway, thanks to everyone who was there at my engagement ceremony, and to the 5 photographers (mul, Uncle Ali, Isyrah, mai and Syaf) thanx a lot for those captured moments!!! And huge thanx to my cuz Sharol n the wife, Hjh Aziha for their effort in making sure things went smoothly as planned, especially bab hantaran... N to my coolest cuzs... Ezah, Ejah, Zatie, Baby, Hadi, Abong, Ninak, Ceboy... thanx for being there and memeriahkan the event... Bayai, thanx for the free make-up hahaha... I wus supposed to pay her $50, but then she owed me jua skali nya free tia, Jimah n Puput... drg ani d blakang tabir, the first few people yg actually helped me a lot especially in my hantaran .... and to all aunties yg sponsor kuih-kuih.. Thanx!!! mm.. Have I mentioned semua?? Ntah ah... yg penting every1 yg dtg atu.. I really appreciate it.. You guys are the best!!!
